Micro Ornament Amigurumi Pattern

This free micro ornament amigurumi pattern is worked in continuous rounds of single crochet, with increases and decreases for the shaping. In worsted yarn with a 3.5 mm hook it makes a toy about 1 in tall, and it takes about 10-15 min at an everyday pace. It is one crocheted piece with no safety eyes: you stuff it and close the last round. Nothing to sew on. A good first amigurumi if you are just starting out.

Putting it together

  1. Stuff, then close the last round: weave the yarn tail through the front loops and pull it shut.
  2. For an ornament: thread a 20 cm (8 in) piece of yarn through a stitch at the top and knot it into a loop.
  3. Make a handful in red, green, gold and white: each one takes about as long as a cup of coffee.
  4. Optional: two tiny black stitches for eyes.
