Mochi Amigurumi Pattern
This free mochi amigurumi pattern is worked in continuous rounds of single crochet, with increases and decreases for the shaping. In worsted yarn with a 3.5 mm hook it makes a toy about 3 in tall, and it takes about 35-45 min at an everyday pace. It is one crocheted piece: the safety eyes go in while you make it, then you stuff it and close the last round. Nothing to sew on.

What you need
- Soft pink yarn, worsted weight: about 20 yd (20 m)
- 2 safety eyes, 7 mm
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Stitch marker
- Yarn needle

Abbreviations (US terms): MR = magic ring, sc = single crochet, inc = 2 sc in the same stitch, dec = crochet 2 stitches together (an invisible decrease looks neatest). The number in brackets is the stitch count at the end of the round.

| Fasten off, then gather the last 6 stitches closed. | ||
Eyes: Put the safety eyes in now, between R8 and R9, about 4 stitches apart. Once the piece is closed you can't add them.
Stuff softly so it stays squishy and a little flat. This is the only piece. Nothing to sew on.
Putting it together
- Put the safety eyes in about 4 stitches apart, just above the middle, before you close it.
- Stuff, then close the last round: weave the yarn tail through the front loops and pull it shut.
- Optional: two pink cheeks.
